Presentation of Heritage Together at the Research Institute of Visual Computing, “Big Data” meetup

Dr Roberts gave a presentation of several research projects, at the Big Data meeting in Cardiff on the 14th January. This event was organised by the Research Institute of Visual Computing, and brought together a wider range of academics and businesses from the Welsh area.

“Big data is a hot topic; especially for visual computing and the heritage assets we are operating with: Big Data is a big deal!” says Dr Roberts,”Scans of the environment, whether created by photogrammetry or through laser scanning, produce huge amounts of data that need to be processed and visualized”.
